Morningstar has 15+ years of communications and engagement experience with 10+ years in progressive leadership roles in the BC Public Service. From culture development, change management, coaching, mentorship, and team empowerment—to strategic planning, partner and relationship development, and large-scale project delivery—she thrives in high-impact, values driven environments.
Morningstar’s background in entrepreneurship, community economic development, program development and people leadership make her a generalist in the most lateral sense. At the core, much of her problem solving, decision making and learning-while-doing approach comes from many years as a small business owner and working in the hospitality and service industry. Her goal is to lead with empathy, humility and clarity of purpose while being an ethical, service-oriented problem solver, that puts humans and the natural environment at the centre of her work.
Morningstar holds a master’s degree in Professional Communications, a diploma in Applied Communications from Camosun College, and is a Certified ScrumMaster. She has also completed 2 years of general studies, as well as numerous public affairs, media relations and professional development courses.
